Product Overview
The FROG® Serene™ Mineral Cartridge (King Technology part 01-14-3812) is the blue, prefilled mineral cartridge for FROG Serene hot tub systems. It works alongside the FROG Serene bromine cartridge (01-14-3824) in the FROG Serene Floating System, and dealers also list it for FROG Serene in-line systems built into many spas. The active ingredient listed on the label is silver chloride, and the cartridge lasts about 4 months, or until you drain and refill.
FROG minerals let you sanitize with a lower bromine level. FROG says you can use up to 50% less bromine than the minimum ANSI-recommended 2.0 ppm, and its Serene manual sets the ideal bromine range at 1.0 to 2.0 ppm. FROG also says the result is softer-feeling water with less chemical odor. The mineral cartridge does not replace bromine; you still need a bromine cartridge in the system.
To install, push the cartridge into its opening in the holder until it stays in place. Dealers note the mineral cartridge is set to 6 (fully open). Keep pH between 7.2 and 7.8 and total alkalinity between 80 and 120 ppm, and shock weekly or as needed with a non-chlorine shock such as FROG Maintain™.
